Controlled Building Process

Manufactured homes are built in factories under strict rules, tight federal regulations, and continuous quality inspections. Assembly line construction leaves little room for error while maximizing the efficiency of labor and materials.

Because the homes are built indoors, weather delays and material damage from rain, snow, or moisture are greatly reduced. Homes are also protected from theft, vandalism, and the unreliability of contractors and subcontractors during construction.

Speedy Construction

Factories can build a typical double-wide or single-wide manufactured home in about one-third of the time it takes a contractor to construct a site-built home. When the house arrives on your property, it is nearly 90 percent complete, helping you move into your new home much faster.

Fast construction does not mean builders can ignore safety or building codes. In-house and third-party inspectors examine each structure before and after the home is placed on site.

Amenities

Manufactured homes can include many of the same amenities found in site-built homes, including wall-to-wall carpet, hardwood floors, ENERGY STAR appliances, top-of-the-line fixtures, 10-foot ceilings, ceramic tile, walk-in closets, jetted bathtubs, fireplaces, bay windows, gabled roofs, and multiple bathrooms.

Homes can meet ENERGY STAR certification, and builders take great care to ensure each home is tightly constructed with efficient heating and cooling systems, water heaters, and high-performance windows.

Flexibility in Design

Today’s manufactured homes are not the mobile homes of the past. Designs can be elaborate and may include multiple stories, porches, garages, decks, and vaulted ceilings. Builders can also customize homes to meet a customer’s specific needs, from stainless steel appliances to hardwood floors and granite countertops.

Floor plans are available from 400 square feet to more than 5,000 square feet.
